Fund Risk Manager

Oliver James have partnered with a boutique Investment Manager and Super ManCo to recruit for a Fund Risk Manager to join a strong and growing Risk function.

This position will report directly into the head of the function and will take an inch wide, mile deep approach to all things fund risk related while also working with the wider Investment Risk function at Group level.

The role will suit an individual coming from a fund administrator, third party or Manco Firm or who is interesting in moving away from large portfolios and getting stuck into an organisation's framework, policies and procedures assuring a strong fund risk culture is embedded in the business.

The successful candidate can expect a varied and challenging remit which will focus on the following;

• The Fund Risk Manager will be to work in tandem with the CRO and the Group Risk function to deliver value-added Risk Management through a combination of in-depth knowledge of each asset class and each Fund Managers' investment style for the funds.
• to identify and review on an ongoing basis the investment risk characteristics of all Products, regularly overseeing the delegates' assessment of the current levels of risk and monitor against risk limits and in accordance with the risk profiles set by the Company
• Review on an ongoing basis the risk characteristics of all Products (such as liquidity and sustainability risk), regularly overseeing the delegates' assessment of the current levels of risk and monitor against tolerances set by the Company.
• Primary contact for day-to-day Fund Risk Management and interaction with the broader teams, including Head of Investments, Product Development and the broader business.
• Provide guidance, advice, and support across the business to identify, assess and manage investment risks. Aspire to be the technical expert in UCITS and AIFMD and funds with respect to risk management

The successful candidate will ideally be coming from a Fund Risk background and have an excellent grasp of both written and spoken English. An ability to work in a fast-paced and flexible environment is a must. A sound understanding of investment instruments and markets is a prerequisite.
