Description:
We are currently recruiting for a Part Qualified Financial Accountant to join our Finance team based in Ashbourne. Ideally you will come from a high volume retail industry, who can work as part of a team as well as independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of monthly management accounts with analysis for the management team
- Preparation of month end journals & balance sheet reconciliations
- Preparation of the VAT returns
- Full responsibility for maintaining the Fixed Asset Register
- Calculation and monitoring of accruals & prepaid expenses
- Provide additional support to the Finance team on other tasks/projects as required
- Posting bank transactions
- Preparing bank reconciliations
- Posting and filing purchase invoices
- Preparing creditors listings and creditors reconciliations
- Completing and populating pre-prepared excel reporting templates
- Preparing and monitoring cash control reconciliations
- Providing assistance with preparation of weekly payroll run
- To reconcile all control accounts, including verification of balances & resolution of outstanding items on a monthly basis.
- Preparation of financial and management reports.
- Management of Banking and cash flow and reconcile daily.
- Overall responsibility for the accounts payable ledger, posting invoices, and monthly reconciliation of all supplier statements.
- Dealing with supplier payment queries and schedule payment runs.
- Management of petty cash transactions.
- Reconcile payroll control account and file the monthly P30;
- Compliance with internal financial protocols.
- Support all general office administration tasks as needed including driving improvement actions across all departments of the company.
- Preparation of management reports and managing the month end process
- Carrying out ad hoc duties at the request of the Financial Controller
Requirements
- Accounting Technician / Part Qualified Accountant
- At least 3 years’ experience in a high volume retail industry desirable
- Knowledge of Thesaurus and Intact IQ is an advantage
- Strong IT skills, particularly Excel
- Experienced in Payroll & VAT
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to prioritise and to work to deadlines
- Organised and efficient with excellent attention to detail
