Responsibilities

  • Performs routine assignments using existing procedures to solve standard problems
  • Typically requires a college or university degree or equivalent work experience
  • Has conceptual knowledge of fundamental theories, principles and practices
  • Has no related work experience or has work experience but requires formal training in theories/concepts in own function
  • Works under close supervision and receives instruction, guidance and direction from more senior level roles
  • Has no discretion to vary from established procedures by performing structured work assignments
  • Entry level to a professional career progression
  • Requires conceptual knowledge of theories, practices and procedures within a job discipline
  • Applies general knowledge of business developed through education or past experience
  • Accountable for own contributions
  • Uses existing procedures to solve standard problems
  • Analyzes information and standard practices to make judgements
  • Has limited impact on own work team; works within standardized procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines
  • Exchanges straightforward information, asks questions and checks for understanding

Qualifications

  • A Degree qualification in Engineering is essential, preferably coupled with a final year project/industrial placement within the Medical Device Industry.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A very practical, constructive and analytical approach to problem solving.
  • The ability to manage several tasks simultaneously combined with a positive ‘can-do’ attitude.
  • Knowledge of ergonomics and its application in a production environment and of Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma methodologies is an advantage.
