Graphic Designer

Description:

A long-established design and print management company with a broad range of customers in the life science, retail, manufacturing, hospitality, service and public sectors. We are now looking for an energetic and ambitious Graphic Designer to deal with existing and new customers. You should be ready for varied tasks, team collaboration, tight deadlines, a high-volume workload at peak times during the year.

The offer is for an initial 12 month contract, up to end of 2022. The view is to make this a permanent role after the contract term.

The Job:

Based in Ballinasloe the person will be responsible for:

• Managing jobs through to completion from concept development, design and print
• Creating design options, arranging illustrative materials and sample layouts based on customer’s requirements or to client guidelines
• Completing design iterations and proofing to customers for review and approval
• Ongoing communicating with customers through to final approval
• Preparing final designs for print production
• Collaborating with other members of the design team and other departments
• Comfortable managing multiple artwork deadlines and able to prioritise own workload.

The role involves extensive customer interaction, both face to face and on the phone. The role will be full-time and the successful candidate will be expected to be flexible in relation to working hours, as workload can vary from week to week.

The Person:

The ideal candidate will have:

• Has exceptional attention to detail and is fluent in English
• a formal third level qualification in graphic design, preferably a degree
• a minimum of 1 year’s graphic design experience in the print industry
• a high level of proficiency with InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator
• to be self-motivated and able to work on own initiative
• Experience in web design and word press would be an advantage
