Description:
Reporting to the Head of Operational Delivery & Optimisation, Europe, this is a leadership role within the Central Technology Services (CTS) function. This new role will take direct responsibility for managing the new Security Operations team which has been setup within CTS to deliver operational security services to the European organisation. The new team will be responsible for providing Network, Endpoint and Cloud Security services, as well as Identity & Access Management and Security Incident Response.
The role will lead a team of circa 35, with 5 direct reports and will involve significant senior relationship and stakeholder management across multiple lines of business in Europe and Lifeco. The role also involves providing HR management support for the European-based Security Incident Response team who are part of the Lifeco Global Security team.
Key Accountabilities
Direct report of CTS Head of Head of Operational Delivery and Optimisation, CTS Leadership team member and security representative on European technology forums and initiatives
Dotted line reporting to the Chief Technology Risk & Information Security Officer.
Responsible for the delivery of Identity & Access Management, Security Incident Response, Network, Endpoint and Cloud Security services to the European organisation.

Responsible for driving the security operations vision and future roadmap for European businesses (6,000+FTE), the IT community (1,100 FTE) and its constituent elements, ensuring alignment with emerging threats and market trends.
Drive improved maturity of security operations to remediate gaps and to achieve the desired target state maturity levels.
Directly lead a team of 35-40 FTE’s and indirectly influence activities and priorities across the Technology Delivery Units (approximately 1,100 FTE) within the European organisation.
Leads and motivates the team, managing the performance and development of direct reports, ensuring alignment with the European Technology strategic direction. Ensures robust succession planning across the team and uses talent management strategies to build and retain capability.
Creates an environment that maximizes and leverages the diverse talents, backgrounds and perspectives of employees. Respond and relate well with people in all positions.
Requires a broad organisation network and strong stakeholder engagement across the European business segment, Central Technology Services and with Lifeco.
A key contributor to the European Technology annual planning and budgeting process.
Be a role model and supports the broader leadership activities of the Central Technology Services function, developing the ‘brand’ and highly engaged team recognised for its diligence, subject matter expertise and excellence in delivery. Able to seamlessly deputise for the Head of Operational Delivery and Optimisation as required.
Desired Knowledge / Experience / Skills
An experienced Security Operations leader who has worked in a complex large organisation across multiple geographies.
Deep knowledge of IT infrastructure and the security issues arising.
Understanding of security technologies, risks and emerging threats.
Broad knowledge of the elements of operational infrastructure involved in tailoring appropriate security solutions to client specific requirements.
Experience in sponsoring highly available, scalable and secure enterprise deployments
Ability to build agile and effective operational processes to support the company’s ability to react to the evolving threat landscape while meeting business needs.
Demonstrable knowledge and experience of using enterprise class security products.
Ability to interpret data to determine if the organisation is under threat.
Proven ability to encourage full participation and commitment among teams.
Ability to manage competing priorities effectively and fairly.
Should have skills in managing security technologies, service management, capacity planning, risk management, product/service lifecycles, portfolio management.
Should also have the ability to effectively manage, grow and develop others utilising appropriate self and people management techniques and practices.
Proven leadership capability, with a track record of attracting and recruiting top talent, motivating teams, delegating effectively, celebrating diversity within, and driving performance; with a strong track record of developing others.
The ability to partner with and relationship manage senior stakeholders in order to manage expectations and influence business goals to achieve successful outcomes.
Experience in presenting to, and reporting to senior executives and executive committees.
The ability to set clear and challenging goals while committing the organisation to improved performance; tenacious and accountable in driving results.
The ability to use a combination of logic, analysis, experience, wisdom to solve complex, difficult problems in a timely and innovative way.
Third level qualification in Information Security or IT, or equivalent work or education-related experience preferable.
CISM (Certified Information Security Manager), CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor) or other industry recognised certifications.
