Your new adventure begins! Based in Dublin, as part of the leadership team, the Head of Tour Logistics will oversee centralized teams that are responsible for updating products in our system, booking ground transportation, purchasing tickets at venues, and scheduling guides – all to ensure smooth operation of tours in all destinations.
What will you be responsible for every day in City Wonders?
- Lead the strategic development of Operations, Guide Scheduling, and Purchasing managers and teams.
- Drive continuous process improvements across all the Tour Logistics teams to ensure that customer expectations continue to be met or exceeded, and that areas for improvement and growth are identified and implemented.
- Oversee the Manager of Purchasing to ensure the Purchasing team targets are met, ticket utilization is optimized, and ensure that controls are in place to minimize errors.
- Oversee the Manager of Guide Scheduling to ensure that enough quality guides are scheduled well in advance for all tours.
- Oversee the Manger of Operations to ensure that procedures are optimized for loading tour products and rates, as well as booking of motorcoaches and other tour components.
- Ensure the teams hit and exceed KPI targets across multiple elements of the business.
- Develop effective and positive strategic relationships with other stakeholders in the organization.
- Develop the capability of the team managers that report to you through strong performance management and coaching.
- Act as senior escalation point and strategic thought leader for all Tour Logistics functions (Operations, Guide Scheduling, and Purchasing).
- Ensure optimum staffing levels are in place to ensure smooth operations of tours in all destinations, facilitate smooth communication and flow between logistics departments, and drive behaviours to ensure success.
- Ensure that quality standards, service standards, and procedures are optimized and maintained in accordance with department objectives and company standards.
- Generate innovative solutions focusing on process refinement and improving ease of doing business with our venues, suppliers, and guides.
- Undertake other functions and responsibilities as directed.
Have you got the City Wonders skills and fit?
- At least 5 years’ experience managing, mentoring, and growing team members in operational or logistics roles.
- Excellent relationship building, team building, and motivation skills.
- Degree in business management or related field.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to see the big picture while understanding the tactical requirements and procedures necessary for your teams to deliver excellence.
- Proven track record of achieving results and implementing creative “outside the box” solutions.
- Ability to analyze data, refine processes, and to propose solutions.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Passion for quality and exceptional customer satisfaction.
- Fluent in English, and a good communicator, both spoken and written.
- Ability to plan and manage projects with multiple stakeholders.
- Self-motivated, well-organized, good attention to detail.
- At least 3 years’ experience with MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
