Health And Safety Advisor

MKO is seeking to recruit a Health and Safety professional to help grow our Health and Safety Consultancy and Advisory service offering and to contribute to the effective and progressive management of MKO’s operational health and safety. This exciting role will allow the successful candidate further develop their Health and Safety Management skills and experience. The successful candidate will contribute to reconfiguring the company approach and policy to health and safety management.

The Health and Safety Advisor will :

• Provide Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) advisory services to MKO clients, including client consultation and fulfilling the role of Project Supervisor for the Design Process (PSDP) on both renewable energy projects and construction projects.
• Provide OSH advisory service to cross-sectoral clients, including manufacturing, utilities, waste, public sector and other sectors as required.
• Contribute to proactive management of all operational health and safety aspects for MKO activities, including fieldwork in remote and exposed locations, fleet safety management, equipment handling, etc.
• Promote a safety culture throughout MKO

The ideal candidate will have a third-level qualification in OSH and ideally have completed a PSDP training course. They will have strong written and verbal communication skills and have at least three years work experience in a health and safety role, with experience in the following areas:

• Fulfilling and coordinating the role of PSDP
• General auditing, inspections and accident/incident investigation
• Achieving ISO45001 certification and maintenance of the standard
• Occupational Health and Safety management for a workforce of >20 staff.
• Maintaining company Health and Safety statistics for competitive project tendering processes
• Evaluating and approval of sub-contractor risk assessment and method statements
• Company Health and Safety reviews and audits
• Development of staff Health and Safety training plans
