We are currently seeking to hire a Hedge Accounting Specialist who will join our Financial Services Audit practice. You will be part of the newly established KPMG Financial Instruments team (KFI), an expert team within KPMG focusing on quantitative topics such as the fair value modelling of derivatives and specialised in accounting for derivatives and hedge accounting.
- Relevant third level degree (2.1 minimum) in finance or related field - Quantitative Finance, Business or Accounting
- Outstanding communication skills, both oral and written
- Experience with accounting for derivatives and hedge accounting strategies - cash flow hedge, fair value hedge and net investment hedge
- Experience with OTC Products used to hedge main market risks - interest rate swaps, FX forwards, cross currency swaps, interest/FX options, inflation deals and commodities deals
- Calculation of XVA Adjustments (CVA/DVA/FVA) will be taken into consideration
- Experience with pricing software's (Bloomberg, Refinitiv, Superderivatives) will be taken into consideration
- IFRS knowledge - IFRS 9 and IAS 39 accounting frameworks, IFRS 13
- Analysis and valuation of financial instruments and derivatives relating to their fair value as well as the quantification of their risk
- Analysis of hedge accounting strategies, review of the requirements to apply hedge accounting and assessment of hedge effectiveness
- Understand the theoretical and technical nature of all major investment types and hedge accounting strategies
- Management of accounting policies and procedures in the context of financial instruments for clients in the investment management, leasing, insurance, banking and retail sectors
- Planning of engagements - timing, staffing and structure
- Liaising closely with clients and audit teams in relation to planning and closing meetings, and discussing business developments generally
- Production of pricing reports and hedge accounting analysis to be distributed to audit teams and clients
