Description:
Applications are invited for the position of CNM2 Infectious Diseases/Long Covid Clinic 0.5 WTE in St Vincent's University Hospital.
Role Summary: The CNM2 will co-ordinate and lead in the implementation and provision of quality care within the Infectious Diseases service with a special focus on Long COVID. He/she will:
- Manage resources, lead the team and be accountable for nursing activity and outcomes of care.
- The CNM2 will be asked to assist with the following tasks:
- the clinical assessment of patients: this will include ECG, measuring height and weight, lying and standing BP and HR, performing a six-minute walking test, and possibly measuring grip strength (not available in clinic yet).
- Follow-up of results of investigations and discussion with consultant in terms of further actions needed
- Assistance with virtual follow-up of patients and answering and reporting clinical queries to consultant
- Participation in regular meetings with key stakeholders: OT, physio, psychology, physicians working in clinic
- Provide cross cover, where required, for other services within the Department of Infectious Diseases, including general Infectious Diseases, HIV and Outpatient Parenteral Antimicrobial Therapy (OPAT) service.
- Function as a role model, promote best practice in the delivery of care, and provide clinical expertise and support within the Inter Disciplinary Team.
- Support, assist and facilitate colleagues in achieving positive outcomes as developed for the Ward/Unit/Department.
- Encourage a culture of openness and participation through effective communication.
