Description:
Meath County Council invites applications from suitably qualified persons who wish to be considered for inclusion on a panel from which permanent & fixed-term contract vacancies for the position of Information Systems (IS) Analyst/Developer shall be drawn.
Software & Application Development Projects:
- To support core business processes with integrated software systems that are prioritised on the basis of delivering our strategic objectives;
- To ensure information and services are readily accessible to customers via the most appropriate channels;
- To exploit mobile technology;
- To embed information as a core asset of the organisation which is valued and maintained accordingly and is easily accessible to support decision making at all levels;
- To act as a technical specialist of specific applications shared across the local government sector (implementation, configuration, adaptation to Meath requirements, training and support).
Duties may include:
- Gather requirements, analyse processes, and specify process automation and/or reporting systems, that will be used across the council or by specific departments;
- Implement, or code/develop and implement, applications, systems, systems integrations, reporting and business intelligence;
- Technical contact for suppliers of third-party software, and associated implementation, providing application-related technical support and training to users in different departments;
- Design and develop front-end interfaces;
- Retire Legacy Systems after suitable data and systems migration;
- Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation;
- Monitor and improve applications performance;
- Monitor and improve systems compliance with security, privacy and data protection legislation and standards;
- Proactively monitor emerging tools, skills, techniques and technologies;
- Pro-actively contribute to development, support and implementation of strategies and Corporate Plan;
- Perform other duties as required by the line manager.
