Sun Life Financial has an immediate requirement for an Operations Senior Analyst in the Employee Experience Technology Global Operations Team. The EET GO team is accountable for the day to day operations maintenance, performance and metrics of the technology associated with the EET environment at Sun Life Financial. As a member of this organization, you will be working in a team environment to support secure, robust and reliable client computing solutions to meet the evolving needs of our internal clients.
As the successful candidate for this role, your knowledge of EET technology, troubleshooting skills, analysis techniques and experience working in operations will help you provide decisive support and leadership for client computing environment.
You must be a leader, able to articulate your vision to both our business partners and your peers. Communication is a critical aspect of your job. Strong written and verbal communication skills are an absolute must.
You will report to the Manager of EET GO
- Support and maintain the infrastructure to ensure availability, capacity, currency, disaster recovery and security needs are met
- Troubleshoot and document to accepted engineering standards
- Design and implement pro-active changes to existing infrastructure and process to improve our service delivery
- Communicate frequently with client service peers; client interaction is key to managing expectations, assessing needs, and customizing solutions
- Interacting with various other engineering and technical support teams including networking, servers, storage, security, service desk and on-site support
- Pro-actively identify and resolve team and/or individual technology knowledge gaps
- Provide on-call support as scheduled
- Be available for scheduled off hours work
- Implement, monitor and support the infrastructure designs that meet technical, engineering and operational specifications as well as conform to the selected service definition, geographical requirements, architecture, and security standards
- Maintain the infrastructure to ensure availability, capacity, currency, disaster recovery and security needs are met
- Support, validate and test working solutions
- Provide sustained engineering as required
- University degree/college diploma in related discipline(s) or equivalent work experience, and/or 5+ years of industry experience in the IT industry
- Strong investigative skills with respect to new and emerging technology solutions
- Strong troubleshooting and research skills used to troubleshoot technology solutions to business needs
- Strong development skills with experience in one or more modern scripting/programming frameworks
- Solid written and verbal communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills
- General knowledge of IT infrastructure (networking, servers, data security concepts, etc)
- Broad multi-platform and multi-industry experience
- Intermediate research, estimation and project sizing skills
- Intermediate coaching skills
- Experience working on medium to large scale enterprise infrastructure
- Understanding and aptitude in emerging client computing technologies such as application and O/S virtualization, mobile security and mobile connectivity
- Technical background including experience with client computing hardware and Windows O/S platforms
- Experience in desktop management and operating system support
- Experience with Lotus Notes, Microsoft Exchange and Instant Messaging
- Strong understanding of IT best practices including ITIL v3 and how it relates to both Client Computing engineering and operations
- Expert administrative experience with or knowledge of the following products preferred
- McAfee security suite including ePolicy Orchestrator, ENS, DLP
- Intermediate administrative experience with or knowledge of the following products preferred
- VMware View/VSphere/ESX
- Citrix/XenApp
- Mobile Device Management (Airwatch/Intune)
