Our Digital Health Vision will be embedded in the delivery of integrated services to children, young people and their families in the new children’s hospital and its outpatient and urgent care centres. It will enable delivery of the right information, in the right format, in the right place, at the right time, to the right person.

The ICT programme for the new children’s hospital and its outpatient and urgent care centres comprises of a number of work streams including:

  • Clinical: Acquiring and deploying an Electronic Healthcare Record (EHR) to HIMSS level 6
  • Corporate & Non-Clinical ICT: Financial, Human Resources and Facilities Management Systems, systems integration, and integrated elements of the programme e.g., end user devices and device integration
  • Outpatient and Urgent Care: Deployment of the systems to support the two buildings at Connolly and Tallaght
  • Infrastructure: Deployment of technology to support the above work streams in addition to technology solutions which enhance workflow or the patient experience
  • Programme Support & Business Engagement: Managing an integrated ICT programme plan and designing and delivering change, communications, training and benefits management

The CHI programme for the new children’s hospital is providing for a number of Area Managers who are responsible for a range of activities within the construction within their designated area of the building. The ICT role is not confined to a particular area but is across the building - anywhere there is an ICT infrastructure component. The purpose of the role is to:

  • Assure the quality delivery of the construction of nch as it pertains to ICT requirements
  • Represent the ICT infrastructure project on site to verify work is completed as agreed, by all parties
  • Facilitate delivery of quality outcomes
  • Take responsibility that the delivered construction meets the design brief as determined by agreed design documents and outputs from formal change management processes
  • Make observations and raise issues through agreed channels
