Infrastructure Delivery Director

 

Description:

The Infrastructure Delivery Director is responsible for delivery of all capital infrastructure programmes for Uisce Éireann, including the Water Supply Project and other high-profile projects. Reporting to the CEO the role holder will also support the drive to implement the transformation of the water industry.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the CEO by determining the Infrastructure Delivery strategy and recommending the future direction for the area, ensuring the strategy aligns with the wider organisational goals and objectives.
  • Provide strategic direction, leadership and management in translating the Infrastructure Delivery strategy into actionable goals for operational planning, ensuring alignment with short-term and long – term objectives.
  • Directly oversee the daily operations of the Infrastructure Delivery functions, building a high-performance inclusive culture to deliver on the organisation goals.
  • Drive the implementation of the SPU with the programme team, transforming ways of working and implementing best practice asset delivery solutions to deliver efficiencies required.
  • Directly oversee all Water Supply, Major Projects and Asset Delivery development strategies and plans to support the achievement of the organisation strategic objectives and in line with industry best practice and standards.
  • Lead the integration of capability within the area to ensure the processes and org design are aligned appropriately to deliver the most efficient and high-performance outputs.
  • Support the organisation goals in Sustainability by ensuring these objectives are embedded by our Supply Chain and delivered in all our capital programmes.
  • Embed a culture of Safety across the area and lead our industry partners in ensuring the values of Work Safe, Home Safe are lived on all Uisce Éireann sites.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with the shareholder, Local Authorities, industry partners and our supply chain, regulators and stakeholders.
  • As a member of the Executive team for UÉ display visible and high impact leadership and promote a culture of collaboration and alignment with all areas of the organisation.

 

General Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaboration with key internal stakeholders across the UÉ business
  • Responsible for promoting and delivering health and safety commitments across UÉ and its supply chain, reinforcing positive behaviours and delivering health and safety objectives and requirements to the highest industry standards.
  • Support the delivery of the Uisce Éireann Transformation Programme, driving results required within the Directorate and supporting organisation-wide objectives.
  • Provide visible leadership for your team, coaching and developing them to achieve their full potential and deliver business objectives, promoting collaboration and highlighting the behaviours that are expected from everyone in the team.
  • Other duties as required.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • You will hold a third level qualification preferably with a post-graduate qualification.
  • You will have significant experience of working at a Senior Executive level, for example, Head of Infrastructure Delivery, Head of Operations or Head of Delivery.
  • A proven track record of outstanding business performance at a senior level in a large, complex, customer focused environment, ideally in the Utilities or Infrastructure sectors.
  • You will have significant leadership and transformation experience ideally in a similar utility or regulated industry.
  • You will successfully have delivered against Business Objectives within a complex and large organisational context and have demonstrated an ability to align resources across these environments.
  • Able to work to deadlines and adapt to changing conditions and ambiguity generating effective and pragmatic solutions to new situations and problems as they are presented.
  • Experience of implementing policies, systems and controls and overseeing the implementation of progressive policies.
  • Excellent communicator with the capability to handle complex and difficult situations with thought and confidence.
  • Demonstrable experience of maintaining strategic relationships and influencing key stakeholders.
  • Can quickly establish credibility and respect and build strong working relationships.
  • Excellent leadership and people skills required, and a demonstrable ability to attract and develop a high performing committed team.
