What the day will look like
The role sits within our Aon Broking Technology ‘’ABT’’ operation based in Dublin, working with our Global Broking team across the Globe.
The Insurance Operations Executive will predominantly work in our MGA business to support the day-to-day requirements of our carrier partners and the Aon retail networks globally across our digital solutions while assisting the business in product innovation and project delivery.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Underwriting Authority
- Underwriting in accordance with rating guidelines on behalf of partner carriers for ABT insurance book of business, monitoring adherence to underwriting permissions as per the pre-agreed authorities
- Liaise with brokers and carriers in respect of binding insurance policies via ABT
- Assist in production and preparation of insurance documentation in line with the relevant Delegated Underwriting Agreements
- Ongoing monitoring of relationships with brokers and carriers
- Underwriting performance management/portfolio review of facilities underwritten
- Assist in the preparation of Management Reporting relating to performance of the relevant product and provide regular updates to key internal and third-party collaborators
- Assist with taxation reporting obligations in relevant jurisdictions
- Liase with relevant departments internally to support with any operational risk, legal and/or compliance tasks for the business as required
- Ensure that all activities are performed in compliance with regulations and laws governing Delegated Underwriting agreements, UK and Ireland and local territories
- Any other duties as commensurate with the role level of the position and deemed appropriate by the ABT CEO
- Takes ownership of insurer / placement related issues
- Monitoring the quality of submissions and intervenes where appropriate to improve them to help achieve superior broking results
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with key insurers
- Proactively handling relationships with Aon units providing broking support services
- Working with colleagues and leaders of the insurer teams to resolve performance issues and to continuously improve client service
- Supporting the objectives contained in the business plans with insurers including the monitoring of insurer selection and intervenes where appropriate
- Disseminates other information relating to the insurance market in a timely and effective manner
- Manages the expectations of the business in terms of market conditions
Product Innovation
- Establish project plans and manage schedules, issues, risks, dependencies and overall status
- Communicate schedules, priorities, and status to all levels in the company
- Guide a project from initial request through to execution
- Apply proven methods of project management to ensure quality delivery
- Manage the project backlog and schedule
- Lead internal and external stakeholders through the entire delivery lifecycle
Skills and experience that will lead to success
- 2+ years previous knowledge and work experience in the insurance sector
- Knowledge or experience with insurance placement technology desirable
- Project Management experience desirable
- Minimum CIP qualification with progress towards ACII desirable
- Knowledge and experience of Delegated Underwriting and Lloyd’s Market desirable
