Intensive Support Worker

 

Description:

Support adults with complex support needs to maximise their quality of life and reduce behavioural challenges, via consistent implementation of support plans. Complete day-to-day support tasks for people accessing Ability West services, including support with activities of daily living and personal care. Implement all support plans as described, including Behaviour Support Plans and Mental Health Support Plans. Support frontline colleagues in their implementation of plans, providing on-the-job coaching as appropriate and/or advising the Service Manager (PIC) that additional staff training is required. Foster positive working relationships with people we support, staff teams and families/carers.
Requirements:

Formal Education/Training and/or Work Experience:

  • Third-level training at under-graduate or post-graduate level in behaviour analysis, psychology, nursing, or a related field, and
  • A minimum of 2 years demonstrable work experience, effectively supporting people with significant behaviour support needs.
