Description:
SSE has big ambitions to be a leading energy company in a low carbon world. Following our commitment to invest £12.5 billion in low carbon projects over the next 5 years, our SSE Renewables (SSER) business continues to be at the forefront of our growth plans, and our ambition to build a world that's more sustainable and inclusive for you, your family, the community you live in and for generations to come. We are proud to be playing a critical role in the net zero transition, as we aim to more than treble the net capacity in operation to 13GW and grow renewable energy output five-fold to over 50TWh over the next 10 years.
SSE has set a target of increasing renewable generation output five fold to 50TWh by 2030. A significant proportion of this capacity will be contracted through competitive processes or auctions in UK&I as well as internationally. Success in these bid processes will be crucial for delivering at this scale and will be dependent on an innovative approach to adding value to projects and bids as well as a robust auction strategy and analysis.
This role sits within the SSE Renewables bid team, working across markets and technologies to deliver sound and commercially robust bid analysis. You will be responsible for working on all aspects of analysis required to deliver a winning bid and for building a detailed business case and undertaking auction simulation modelling for each of our bids. You will be responsible for engaging and working with SSE Corporate Finance, to support development of their bid specific financial models.
The role will be responsible for modelling financial stacking of bids against the market and for providing persuasive and insightful analysis to inform bid outcomes. Perform research on auction competitors to understand their short to medium term plans, as well as their likely bid strategy, and consider this when informing our own bid strategies. This is a demanding role where attention to detail is paramount.
You will be able to provide strategic context to bid outcomes and think innovatively to develop winning bid strategies and drive value improvement across these bids, often engaging with senior levels within the organisation or Joint Ventures.
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
