Applications are invited for the Lectureship in Anthropology based in the Department of Archaeology within the College of Arts, Celtic Studies & Social Sciences. This is an opportunity to join one of Ireland’s leading universities and an academic unit with a strong record of teaching and research. Applicants should have qualifications and experience in the field of biological/physical anthropology with a background knowledge of archaeology. The successful applicant will be required to deliver foundation and advanced teaching in biological/physical anthropology in the BA degree in Anthropology and also in postgraduate courses.
Candidates should hold a primary degree in Anthropology, as well as a doctoral qualification in Archaeology or Anthropology, from a recognised University at the time of application. They should have post-doctoral research experience, as well as publications in the field of biological/physical anthropology. The holder of this post will be a coordinator in the BA Anthropology degree, with responsibility for curriculum management, timetables and assessment. S/he will also contribute to the academic administration of the Department and College, and will engage with external bodies in areas relating to Anthropology.
