Applications are invited from those interested in joining the staff of UCC at the Cork Centre for Architectural Education, which is a joint centre managed by UCC and Munster Technological University. The appointee will serve as leader of an HCI project and Curriculum Change champion in Cork Centre for Architectural Education. The appointee will be required to review the current curriculum, particularly in Years 1 to 3, and to engage students and staff in curriculum innovation as a response to in the Ireland’s Housing Crisis and the global Climate Crisis. The candidate will provide guidance and leadership in Cork’s contribution to developing ‘Resilient Curricula for 21st Century Design Professionals’, working with the CCAE’s Director, the Director of Learning & Teaching, the Director of BSc Programme, and collaborating with six other HEI’s offering Architecture degrees, the RIAI and industrial & professional partners.
The appointee will have interest in shaping, and contributing to, the education of Architects the development of housing provision shortage and sustainable, resilient design. Applicants must have a post-graduate degree in addition to an Architecture degree The candidate is expected to have experience in working in the field of Architecture/Engineering/Construction and experience in teaching in Third Level architectural education. A strong background in ICT, and international experience of design pedagogy will be a great advantage.
