Description:
You can expect to be involved in a varied and fast-moving range of work supporting execution of the business’ strategy through providing legal advice and assistance to various business functions in relation to all areas of law, including;
- drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts, agreements and other corporate legal documents;
- conducting extensive legal research and evaluating risk factors regarding business decisions and operations, recommending actions to mitigate legal risks;
- supporting the delivery of good customer outcomes;
- providing legal support to company-wide and intra-group projects and propositions;
- providing commercially-focused legal advice and guidance on a wide variety of technical and legal matters;
- working alone and collaboratively with other members of the legal team and wider legal function; and
- collaborating and managing relationships with business functions and keeping stakeholders and senior management informed of developments to ongoing matters;
- participating in training and other initiatives;
- manage legal issues as they arise, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and internal policies and standards.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
- The ideal candidate will be a qualified, junior lawyer (solicitor or barrister) with an excellent academic record, eligible to practise in Ireland seeking to develop their legal and commercial expertise in the insurance industry.
- Confidence and capability to actively engage with a varied and fast-moving workload.
- Previous experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements is essential.
- Experience of insurance or other regulated financial services would be beneficial.
- Excellent oral and written communication and problem-solving skills.
- A strong commercial and strategic mindset, with a drive and aptitude to pick-up new skills, learn and develop.
