Description:
The role of the Supervisor is to manage all construction, maintenance and operations activities assigned to him/her. A key role will be to manage the safety performance of staff, networks and equipment.
Responsibilities also include the management of customer relationships, budgets, ensuring effective network operations, fault response and continuity of supply.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan work and set priorities in line with Customer Delivery policy and Business Rules.
- Monitor on-going progress and quality of work let to External Contractors.
- Ensure that the schedules are organised in the most efficient manner possible, minimising disruptive influences.
- Keep the OMS model up-to-date when in charge of the networks.
- Ensure that direct reports complete all work safely, on time and to standard.
- Ensure that all support systems necessary to complete the work are in place and operating effectively.
- Ensure that all work is recorded as necessary for Asset Management Register.
- Manage, support and develop staff.
- Carry out safety and quality audits as per agreed audit schedule and provide feedback on performance to staff and contractors.
- Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders (Major Customers and Local Authorities).
- Respond to faults.
Essential
Experience and Qualifications
- Advanced Level 6 Electrical Craft Certificate/A suitable Level 7 or higher qualification in Electrical, Electrical Services, Electronics, Mechanical or other suitable alternative qualification with a sizeable electrical theory content
- Knowledge of LV, MV, HV network operations
- Knowledge of Network Assets and Standards; Sub-stations, Cables, Lines, Protection and Metering
- Understanding of ESB's Group policies in all dealings with staff, customers, contractors, general public etc
- Minimum 5 year's relevant experience
