Description:

The manager’s role is primarily to oversee the successful delivery by their team of the CRU’s annual work plans and to provide specialist support /advice to the senior management team. A key participant in the designing, developing and implementing of policy in the CRU, the manager is also central in shaping and maintaining a high performance, value-driven culture in the organisation.


Managers are responsible for:

  • Managing and supporting staff in terms of coaching, mentoring, along with skills transfer and development;
  • Carrying out appraisals for each team member through CRU annual appraisal process;
  • Development of annual goals and objectives for the team which will feed into the CRU work plan;
  • Managing at all levels in a changing environment that demands both flexibility and adaptability;
  • Operating in an environment of increasing accountability;
  • Providing a clear focus on the importance of managing outputs and outcomes;
  • Managing key projects in line with the CRU work plan in a productive and efficient manner
  • Carrying out such other functions as may be required from time to time to fulfil the business objectives of the CRU and as appropriate to the grade.
