Brigit’s Garden is an innovative and unique not-for-profit organisation in Co. Galway, involved in education, the environment and tourism. This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in actively marketing all aspects of Brigit’s Garden and contribute to the development of our fund-raising strategy. Brigit’s Garden is a registered charity.

The person appointed will have a good understanding of our ethos and approach, and at least three years’ experience at Marketing Executive level or similar and be ready to take responsibility for implementing and further developing the marketing and fund-raising strategies for Brigit’s Garden. These encompass all aspects of our work – education in nature and sustainability, visitors to the award-winning Celtic Gardens, Café and Gift Shop, special events and weddings, business partnerships, and fund-raising from donors and funding organisations.

This is a part-time position, initially for 20 hours a week. There may be an opportunity for additional hours if the role develops further. The person will join our small, dedicated team and work closely with the Director and other staff.

The responsibilities of the position

  • Deliver the marketing strategy to achieve the targets in the Brigit’s Garden Strategic Plan while upholding our ethos.
  • Manage all online and offline marketing channels (website, social media, e-newsletters, print material etc.)
  • Manage customer and business-to-business and campaigns for each market segment. This will include b-to-b relationships with tour operators and hotels and may include representing Brigit’s Garden at tourism trade fairs.
  • Develop and manage fund-raising campaigns to support our work as an educational and environmental charity.
  • Monitor and report on all marketing and fund-raising activities.

Requirements

  • Understanding of our environmental and sustainability ethos
  • Proven experience in delivering a marketing and/or a fundraising strategy
  • A relevant marketing qualification
  • Proven experience in website optimisation, social media and email marketing
  • Strong organisational and project-management skills
  • Ability to think creatively and develop innovative marketing solutions
  • Ability to work independently as well as being a team player with a collaborative ethos
  • Effective communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and writing skills
  • Knowledge of and/or interest in the environment and tourism and hospitality sectors
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office suite

The following would be advantages but are not essential

  • Experience of Photoshop and graphic design
  • Proficiency in Irish
