Nci Executive Director

Description:

NCI is seeking to recruit an Executive Director to take a leadership role in the running of the organisation and a range of projects. Reporting to the Board of NCI, the Executive Director will manage all of the organisation’s strategy and operations.

The role is varied and involves:

−     Working with the Board, Steering Committee and Financial Officer to develop and execute on NCI’s Budget and Strategic Plan;

−     Working with the Board to ensure NCI maintains the highest levels of corporate governance (e.g. manage lobbying activities, Annual General Meetings, conflicts of interest etc.)

−     Fundraising;

−     Designing and tendering for projects and managing/quality assuring their delivery;

−     Hiring and overseeing NCI’s contractors, who support and deliver our work;

−     Organising and presenting at events to promote the natural capital approach;

−     Research and analysis on issues relating to natural capital;

−     Writing, designing, editing and publishing reports and content as needed;

−     Coordinating NCI policy advocacy on natural capital issues;

−     Working with NCI’s Communications Executive to manage and quality assure NCI’s external communications, including NCI’s newsletter, social media presence, website, and blog;

−     Stakeholder engagement, including development of NCI’s membership and liaising with national and international organisations with natural capital relevance.

About the candidate

Preferred skills and experience:

−     Suggested 5+ year’s experience in a similar Leadership role

−     Strong leadership and influencing skills

−     Familiarity with businesses

−     Proven knowledge of sustainability, climate change and natural capital concepts and issues in Ireland and internationally

−     Excellent organisational skills

−     Proven ability to manage diverse stakeholders
