MHT Lighting, with headquarters in New York City and its European headquarters in Dublin, is a pioneering software development firm in the lighting industry. MHT is holder of three US patents related to its unique “inspeXtor®” lighting Power over Ethernet (PoE) control platform. Our inspeXtor system provides clients the ability to turn their facility into a Smart building. This is accomplished by our easy open interface, functional flexibility and the ability to integrate with other building management systems.
MHT Lighting is looking for an experienced Network Engineer to assist CTO in various tasks related to Product development, project commissioning, troubleshooting and day 2 technical support to clients. Applicant will be required to go on site to provide service as well as field training.
Network Engineer
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design and deploy company LANs, WANs, and wireless networks, including servers, routers, firewalls, load balancers hubs, switches, UPSs, and other hardware
- Configure, tests, and maintains LAN/WAN equipment and related services
- Identifies, diagnoses, and resolves network problems
- Managing existing and deploying new system configurations, including Windows Server, Virtualization Systems, Mobile Devices, Mobile Platforms and Desktops (Windows and MAC)
- Provide Tier 2 and 3 support for internal and external customers
- Provide formal corporate communications on directional changes or changes that will impact existing policies
- Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company’s CTO
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all implemented networks, support and training calls, in-person or otherwise for process improvement and future upgrades.
- On-site commissioning, training and troubleshooting
- Testing of third-party products such as lighting, sensors, and other technology to ensure compatibility with inspeXtor software and hardware.
- Provide support for clients via phone calls and emails
- Support MHT Partners such as installers and Representatives in regards to project implementation
- Troubleshoot basic Linux programs and server issues
Requirements:
- Bsc. In Computing science, Engineering, of similar relevant field.
- Min 5 years of experience with basic computer network design and troubleshooting
- Min 5 years of experience troubleshooting Linux
- Ability to work closely with Software and Electrical engineers as well as cable installers
- Cisco certifications, CCNA, CCNP or CCIE
- In depth knowledge of TCP/IP
- Experience in Java, Unix, SQL, CSS, HTML, XML
- Proficiency in Java script/Python/Shell scripting is a bonus
- Hands on experience with equipment from HP or Cisco, PoE equipment
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to analyze and suggest system and process improvements.
- Basic DC electrical knowledge
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to autonomously solve problems, as well as collaborate with direct and extended teams
- Experience with control systems
- Project management experience
- Strong writing and speaking communications skills.
