Operations Director

Sweco Ireland Limited is seeking an experienced Operations Director to lead our Fire and Access Consultancy team in Dublin. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all fire engineering and disability access projects are completed to the highest professional standards in accordance with building regulations and industry best practices.

Responsibilities Include
 

• Leading and developing the Fire and Access team in Dublin and contribute to its overall development and growth.
• Ensuring that work is completed efficiently and within agreed resources to achieve profitable financial contributions to the business.
• Assisting the Business Unit Manager in meeting the financial targets of the business by ensuring projects are invoiced in a timely manner and in accordance with the agreed scope of services.
• Communicating by meetings and correspondence with other project team members, including fire officers, disability access officers, building control officers, and other statutory organizations, clients, client representatives/agents, and client design teams.
• Efficiently and competently undertaking and providing fire engineering and disability access services and associated services on a timely basis, including preparation and issue of all reports, design calculations, and specification documentation.
• Seeking new and repeat business for the company during the course of work, ensuring client care is at the forefront of our work.
• Overseeing the technical outputs of junior staff within the Fire and Access team and continually seek to improve technical standards within the team.
• Mentoring and coaching other employees in their technical development.
   

What do you need to succeed in this role?

You'll have gained experience in a similar role where you've worked across the project lifecycle, incorporating a variety of sectors. You'll have experience of managing projects and delivering to time and budgetary deadlines, whilst complying with all procedures and managing resource requirements on projects. You will have spent time coordinating the input of others from within and outside you own team and have a broad and deep technical knowledge in your chosen engineering discipline whilst demonstrating an understanding of other disciplines.

Demonstrable understanding of issues of commercial and contractual risk, and a proven ability to mitigate these risks is essential, along with all round, up-to-date knowledge of the Building Regulations and other relevant legislation and their application to construction projects on a professional basis

Other Requirements Include
 

• Postgraduate Diploma in Fire Safety Practice or equivalent
• Proven experience as Lead Fire and Disability Access Consultant for projects in Ireland
• proven experience liaising with Local Authorities and obtaining Statutory Certificates for FSC and DAC
• A valid driving license.
