Waddington Europe has a vacancy for an Operations Manager to work for Waddington Europe - Arklow site.
Responsible for managing the operations functions of the facility to ensure the efficient running of the site.
We are looking for someone who has the ability to remain calm under pressure with good communicating techniques, has experience in managing people with strong leadership skills and is a respectful, positive and motivated person. The ideal candidate would posses ILM level 4+ or equivalent and have knowledge of Six Sigma techniques. Experience working in a manufacturing/production environment would be an advantage.
What We Need From You
- Develop all necessary policies and procedures and implement to ensure that a safe and healthy working environment is maintained at all company sites
- Develop and control the:
- Budget for the Operations Department to ensure that the Department has all the resources required to meet its objectives within agreed financial parameters
- Production function to ensure that finished goods of the required standard are available to customers within agreed costs and at the correct times
- Warehousing and Distribution functions to ensure that customers are supplied with the correct quantities of goods at the correct times
- Promote a continuous improvement culture and lead the company’s activities to energetically seek and implement cost reduction efficiencies in support of margin improvement
- Contribute to the development of the company’s corporate strategy and lead strategy development in the areas of responsibility to ensure that company achieves its short and long-term objectives
- Report on and drive the operational KPI’s for the facility
- Develop and implement all necessary policies and procedures to ensure that the functions achieve their business objectives
- Key and facilitating influence in the company’s evolution and ambition to develop further it’s empowered local management team
- With peers at other Waddington Europe facilities, collaborate to develop new technologies/process enhancements and pro-actively share best-practice with this group
- Promote customer service excellence, meet/exceed customer expectations via high levels of delivery and quality performance
- Provide assistance with the development of integrated systems, procedures and practices throughout the business.
- Act as the company’s main adviser on all issues relating operational functions and keep abreast of latest developments to ensure that the Company maintains its competitive position
- Comply with all policies and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy working environment is maintained
- Abide by the company’s environmental and quality management procedures
