Job Purpose: To ensure that all of the Regulatory requirements for full compliance with relevant legislation and National Standards are met. To promulgate and oversee a continuous improvement culture which seeks to exceed compliance and strive for excellence in all areas of operation and practice in the home
Job Requirements:
- Contributeto the development of systems which promote, ensure and monitor compliance with all Regulatory requirements
- Ensure operational adherence to all systems which are in place to guarantee compliance with Regulatory requirements, through diligent management practices and the support and mentoring of all staff working in the home
- Proactively identify, recommend, and instigate improvements in all aspects of the running of the Designated Centre
- Maintain regular audits of all areas of activity within the Designated Centre, keep accurate records and analyse data for continuous improvement
- Ensure staff receive appropriate induction into the home, and ongoing training and development in line with statutory requirements, organisational policy, and professional development targets
- Provide regular individual supervision to all staff who are operational within the home
- Provide written reports in line with organisational structures and attend meetings as required with Provider Representative and other relevant managers and colleagues
- Attend regular supervision and be committed to own professional development within the role
- Have an overview of every aspect of the running of the Designated Centre, ensuring high standards in all operational areas, health and safety, staff development, care planning and positive behavioural support
- Be responsible for ensuring the maintenance of the Designated Centre to high physical standards, ensuring that any repairs are dealt with promptly and efficiently
- Work with Case Managers and clinicians to ensure a high quality of person-centred care is delivered to those living in the home
- Ensure that all support plans and risk assessments are up to date and accessible
- Ensure that the Designated Centre is suitable resourced in terms of staffing and budgets, and report any concerns to Management immediately
- As required, fulfil other specific roles within the Designated Centre, including Designated Officer (Safeguarding), Complaints Officer and Fire Officer
- Contribute to a range of processes including the handling of complaints and grievances, managing competency programmes, and participating in annual Appraisals
- Be fully conversant with all Policies and Procedures and ensure the implementation of same
- Be familiar with, and adhere to, all security policies and GDPR compliance, and maintain strict adherence to these in all aspects of the running of the Designated Centre
- To be cognisant of all relevant aspects of infection prevention and control and implement relevant protocols and ensure high standards are maintained in all aspects of IPC
- To be responsible for maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of emerging legislation and relevant National Policy, and to seek to develop oneself within the role, requesting additional training, and identifying learning opportunities as appropriate
- Work face to face shifts as required in order to be familiar with all aspects of the routines and activities of the home from a non-managerial perspective
- Participate in on-call rota to ensure senior supports are available to the Designated Centre at all times in case of emergency, and in certain circumstances be prepared to cover shifts on an emergency basis
