We are recruiting a Pharma Engineering Manager to join our site in Manorhamilton Road, Sligo. The Pharma Engineering Manager will provide a Manufacturing Engineering service to the plant, to maximise the reliability of Manufacturing Equipment and ensure continual compliance with the policies relating to Personnel, Quality, Engineering, Safety and Finance. This person will control all relevant engineering budgets and develop the Engineering team with the emphasis on continual operational improvements and employee development. This person will ensure the performance of day-to-day preventative and demand maintenance activity to maintain manufacturing and utility equipment and liaise with Production to ensure equipment performance is maximized. This person will manage a team of 15 people and any engineering contractor support.
- Establish with the Engineering and EHS&E Manager the department goals, schedules, and timetables for activities and assist with the management and supporting of manufacturing equipment development.
- Maintenance of manufacturing equipment.
- Preparation of capital expenditure requests for plant and develop monthly engineering metrics.
- Ensure successful external, Division and Corporate audits.
- Completion of PM on manufacturing equipment and completion of instrument calibration as per schedule.
- Identification and implementation of manufacturing equipment related CIP’s.
- Issue management reports as requested and on time.
- Management of relevant budgets within target.
- Ensure safety standards are met and safe working practices adhered to.
- Implementation of equipment/process upgrade in an environment of continuous improvement.
- Support the Engineering Team in ensuring that manufacturing equipment is maintained to meet the required legal, divisional and corporate standards.
- Ensure the effective management of appropriate internal and external plant projects.
- Implementation of all relevant policies relating to Personnel, Quality, Engineering & Safety.
- Supervise external contractors and negotiate cost / quality effective external contracts.
- Prepare appropriate CAPA plans and implement timelines.
- Required to undertake specific investigations, and equipment monitoring, with the view to improve manufacturing performance e.g. reducing plant downtime and maximizing Plant output and yield. It may be necessary to re-design elements of manufacturing machinery to adapt to process conditions in order to improve efficiency.
- Ensures that all maintenance is performed to comply with MEP requirements.
- Attends Tier 2 and drives actions to closure.
- Responsible for setting annual goals, completing reviews, growth plans and performance management of a team of over 10 direct reports. While also managing and supervising external contracts.
