Pharmaceutical Intern

Description:

Reporting to Operations, Quality or EHSS Functional Leaders depending on location of individual role.

This internship offers the opportunity to work in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment, supporting operational objectives in the manufacture of drug product. This will include exposure to the Quality and EHSS systems, product manufacture and laboratory work within a cGMP environment.

Essential Functions

Responsibilities can include:

GxP and / or EHSS Document processing and management under supervision.

Support and shadow the following QA & Laboratory work activities:

• Stability and Release data review and processing, confirming product specifications are met.
• Quality Management System support to include review and processing of change controls, CAPAs,

deviations etc.

• Sample management
• Analytical work
• Inspection of components and materials
• Liaise with contract laboratories and vendors in the execution of their works

Support and shadow the following Production work activities:

• Warehouse activities and GMP material controls
• Preparation and set up for drug product manufacturing
• Preparation and set up for drug product packaging activities
• Daily/weekly facility and utility checks
• Participation in / Lead operations team projects
• Participation in investigations / risk assessments

Support and shadow the following EHSS work activities:

• Environmental emissions monitoring (daily, weekly sampling routines)
• Weekly environmental surveys (storm water system)
• Quarterly environmental audits (internal EHSS Dept.)
• Waste management (waste streaming, labelling, supervising collections)
• Monthly internal EHSS audit follow-up / tracking action items
• Supporting EHSS continuous improvement initiatives
• Processing EHSS training records

Ad hoc administrative tasks.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
