Practice Accountant

Description:

Our client is a highly successful accounting firm established more than 30 years ago. They strive to build lasting and enduring relationships with their clients to improve profitability, provide objective advice and informed guidance of best practice for your business and personal needs. Due to continuing and increasing workloads, they are currently recruiting for an experienced practice professional to join the team in managing a portfolio of SME clients. Prior experience (minimum 4 years) in a similar role working in Practice is preferred and the ability to efficiently handle client accounts and manage e same relationships is key. Hybrid working is available after the initial settling in period.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Managing a portfolio of SME clients in the provision of annual accounting services.
• Preparation and filing of the tax requirements of clients.
• Maintaining books and records for bookkeeping/advisory clients
• Preparing and presenting monthly/quarterly management accounts to clients and provide valuable insights from these accounts.
• Prepare statutory accounts for client companies on a regular basis.
• Complete accounts for sole traders, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Generate VAT reports and ensure timely and accurate ROS filing.
• Manage the reconciliation of control accounts for precision in financial records.
• Address and resolve client queries promptly and effectively.
• Liaise and report to team members, fostering a collaborative work environment.

Criteria:

• Qualified member of a Professional Institute of Accountants ideally (ACA, ACCA, CPA,)
• A minimum of 4 years’ relevant experience in a similar role.
• Strong technical, interpersonal, and client relationship skills along with the ability to work on their own initiative.
