DocuSign is looking for a highly motivated Principal Marketing Technology Architect to join our Business Application Engineering team. The Principal Marketing Technology Architect will execute on all aspects of the application development lifecycle including architecture, design, prototyping, developing, testing, and deployment of the Marketing applications landscape.

This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Senior Manager, Salesforce Engineering.
Responsibility
- Must understand the business requirements and marketing goals of the organization, and translate them into technical design, technical requirements
- Must design the marketing technology architecture, including selecting the appropriate marketing technology solutions, designing the integrations between them, and ensuring the scalability and sustainability of the architecture.
- Must develop and implement marketing technology solutions, such as marketing automation systems, content management systems, customer data platforms, and analytics tools, to enable the marketing team to execute their campaigns effectively.
- Must ensure that the marketing technology solutions comply with data security and privacy regulations, including but not limited to GDPR and CCPA.
- Must work closely with cross-functional teams, such as Growth and Marketing organization, IT, and Data & Analytics, and others to ensure that the marketing technology solutions meet the needs of the business.
- Must keep up-to-date with emerging marketing technologies and trends, and evaluate and recommend new technologies that can improve the effectiveness of the marketing campaigns.
- Must manage relationships with marketing technology vendors, negotiate contracts, and ensure that the vendors provide the necessary support and maintenance.
- Must provide training and support to the marketing team to ensure that they can effectively use the marketing technology solutions.
- Build multi-year roadmap and deliver solution components in increments
- Leverage business process knowledge & expertise to identify gaps and recommend system improvements
- Analyze technical debts on our Salesforce platform and recommend remediation
- Develop solution prototype and define the path to production
- Influence and gain alignment with key stakeholders on solution implementation
- Participate in and drive technology/tool and System Integrator selection
- Clearly define problem statements, develop solution options and present recommendations to key stakeholders to drive consensus
- Coach and mentor team members to make them more effective
