Procurement Specialist

Responsibilities: (full job description available on request)

  • Conducting spend analysis of procurement expenditure for inclusion in a new government plan;
  • Reporting to the finance and compliance committee on the deliverables in a new government plan
  • Reviewing the agencys procurement procedures and updating these procedures
  • Advising budget holders on the appropriate procurement mechanism to use
  • Assisting budget holders when preparing invitations to tender documents and reviewing draft invitations to tender documents prior to publication
  • Reviewing and updating standard procurement templates
  • Assisting with responses to questions raised by potential tenderers

Requirements:

  • Must have at least 5 years of public sector procurement experience at a senior level
  • A relevant third-level qualification to a minimum of a degree standard is essential; relevant technical knowledge and experience would also be desirable
  • Ability to work well under pressure and to meet tight deadlines
  • A full current driving license is essential
  • Working outside of standard office hours may be required
