Description:
The procurement specialist will engage the company's suppliers to build solid relationships, drive supply, best value for money and generate commercial agreements.
Main responsibilities:
- Work with suppliers to continuously improve quality, delivery, payment terms and overall conditions.
- Identify short-term and long-term supply risks, communicate and execute mitigation actions.
- Engage with suppliers on purchase contracts where needed, either for Medical unique suppliers or coordinated with centralised Procurement for shared suppliers.
- Generate data-driven reporting based on categories, PPV and Price Index.
- Identify and source new raw materials and vendors for custom product development, ensure sourcing strategies are supported by the Global Procurement group where relevant.
- Ensure supplier readiness by working with project teams dedicated to product launches and changes.
- Ensure qualification of suppliers is compliant to quality requirements.
- Review supplier scorecards internally and externally, identify areas for improvement and lead appropriate actions.
- Investigate the possibility to consolidate suppliers for business continuity.
Qualifications
- Relevant purchasing or related experience in sourcing, negotiation and commercial agreements.
- BA/BSc in a relevant discipline (Supply Chain, Business Administration, etc) is desirable.
- Technical aptitude, exemplified by education/training in business, science, chemistry, other engineering discipline or related work experience.
- Analytical and presentation skills, with ability to communicate efficiently, persuasively and credibly with suppliers, colleagues and senior management.
- Good knowledge of MS Office systems Outlook, Excel-Proficiency on Excel Pivots, Charts, etc., Word, PowerPoint Presentations or G-Suite equivalents.
- Knowledge of modern supply chain systems including ERP.
- Manufacturing acumen, with ability to develop, communicate and reinforce CTQs.
- Strong values and integrity, keeping with Avery Dennison’s Code of Conduct.
- Some travel might be required.
