Key Responsibilities:
Demonstrated Leadership abilities of Infrastructure / Transformation Programmes / Projects (Power / Transmission Systems & Electricity Sector) departments.
Define and mobilise the large-scale infrastructure teams required to deliver the capital projects, including sourcing of internal capability and partner capability.
Manage large capital budgets effectively and efficiently, partnering with finance teams to ensure that the appropriate controls are in place.
Manage large scale procurement processes, facilitated by the internal procurement team and in line with the standards for public procurement.
Lead the end-to-end delivery of the capital projects to the required scope, costs and timescales.
Ensure that effective governance arrangements are in place for all projects, and that the appropriate measures are in place to monitor progress and oversee effective change control processes.
Lead and drive the application of policies, standards, and frameworks as set by the Project Management Office.
Lead the engagement processes publicly with key stakeholders including visibility at public and community engagement events and in relation to engagement with the Shareholder.
Prepare and present to the executive leadership team in relation to Infrastructure projects, being prepared to engage in constructive dialogue around the effective management and oversight of the projects.
Critical knowledge, skills, and experience:
Extensive leadership experience of delivering large-scale capital-intensive projects in the energy sector or adjacent in the island of Ireland.
Able to understand the critical expectations of stakeholders and the shareholder and able to engage and influence key stakeholders at a senior level.
Articulate and persuasive communications skills, able to tailor their approach for the relevant audience.
Able to motivate, lead and influence high performing hybrid (Internal, external, contingent) teams as circumstances change creating a cohesive delivery tea
Commercial and able to understand and manage the financial and commercial complexities of large-scale infrastructure delivering including cost development, cost management and funding.
