SSE Renewables are a long-established onshore wind leader in Ireland and are committed to continually growing in this sector and country. SSER's ambition in Ireland is to deliver an additional 700MW net at the 2030 horizon.
As Project Manager for Onshore Wind, you'll provide the necessary support to deliver projects commencing construction until they are handed over to SSE's operational team. You'll assist the Senior Project Manager and take accountability for specific aspects of projects, which will include taking responsibility for the management and administration of key contracts.
Other Key Accountabilities May Include
- Ensuring that safety, health and protection of the environment is a number one priority across all projects. Promoting a positive SHEQ culture with a view of achieving zero harm and zero incident rate.
- Setting the standards and be responsible for all aspects of site performance by the contractors. Police, monitor and report on the site SHEQ performance and KPIs.
- Organising and coordinating all aspects of site supervision and liaisons. Supervision will consist of a team of site-based Supervisors, SHE officer and Community Liaison Officer and other support resources visiting the site e.g. Engineering support, Environment Manager, Quality Manager, etc. The site-based supervisors will report to the Project Manager.
- Fulfilling the role of Project Manager under the NEC contract and deputising for the Senior Project Manager as required.
- Develop strong and effective relationships with the project team, subcontractors, suppliers, stakeholders and the community as needed, including landowners, members of the community, local authorities, statutory bodies and utilities.
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
- Health and safety legislation knowledge, including the PSCS and PSDP roles (or CDM regulations in UK).
- A track record of coordinating site activities, managing interfaces and resolving conflicts.
- Practical experience of administering contracts, preferably NEC3 Option A with an understanding of the importance of compliance with planning consent.
- Self-motivation, flexibility and the ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines.
- An innovative mindset with a passion for problem solving, and a real desire to succeed.
