Description:

As Project manager you will be responsible for the delivery of capital projects in line with robust project management plans to ensure all projects are executed and delivered on time and in line with budget and resources. This service includes planning, briefing contractors and consultants, managing standards and ensuring the needs of key stakeholders are met.

To take projects from initial brief to implementation. To deliver all projects to the Brown Thomas Arnotts standard and to support all active projects within BTA.

The ideal candidate will be ambitious, driven and a hard worker. Flexibility will be required as out of hours work is required when projects are live, both early mornings and evenings. There is a requirement to all 7 Brown Thomas Arnotts Stores. The successful candidate will hit the ground running and excel working within a fast paced and high pressured environment. The project manager will have the ability to take direction and adapt to a brief. The skills required in this role are predominantly technical however a creative flair will be advantageous.

  • Preparing Scope of works and tender packs for pricing
  • Managing the tender process with external contractors, review of tenders and selecting appropriate RIAI contracts for project
  • Briefing external contractors on projects
  • Negotiation with external contractors and suppliers to achieve best value for money
  • Project managing projects throughout group
    • Defining a scope of works
    • Budget costing scope of works
    • Preparing & raising AFE for approval
    • Prepare project program
    • Day to day monitoring of project program
    • Monitoring quality of work
    • Ensuring all works are compliant with current regulations
    • Monitoring site progress – highlighting risks to program
    • Ensuring all costs are inline with budget agreed at AFE stage
    • Delivering project on time, within budget to high standards
  • Taking external designs and managing the installation in store, adhering to the above criteria
  • Efficiently communicating to store management teams using correct documents when works are being carried out in the stores.
  • Visiting regional stores when projects are being implemented.
  • Control of capital cost budget, updating on spend to date on all ongoing projects
  • Updating in tray for finance team
  • Support of ground floor Masterplan project
  • Cost control of ground floor Masterplan project working with external Quantity Surveyor
  • Develop layouts & drawings to tender level
  • Adapting briefs to develop designs & manage implementation of these designs
  • Keep existing group store floor plans up to date
  • Create an efficient e-filing system for all drawing files / floor plans

KNOW WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Experience of project management in a retail environment would be advantageous. The ideal candidate will be experienced in finance, cost control and budget costing projects
  • Autocad or equivalent drawing software
  • Microsoft Project or equivalent project management software essential
  • Full Microsoft suite
  • Photoshop
