Asset Development is tasked with identifying, developing and managing new investment opportunities on behalf of ESB Group. The team within Asset Development is in the process of developing a number of projects in the UK and Ireland and is actively seeking to acquire or develop further projects in both Ireland and abroad. Asset Development activities comprise identifying and developing opportunities to enhance and expand the generation portfolio to achieve the ESB growth targets.

Asset Development is seeking applications for the delivery of fast-track generation projects in conjunction with colleagues in Asset Management and EMP. This is a broad ranging dynamic role. The successful applicant will be responsible for all the delivery aspects of the projects including the development of a business case, technical leadership, establishing appropriate commercial arrangements ,planning consent, emissions licensing, and other stakeholder management. The successful applicant will be highly motivated, innovative, commercially driven and have a track record of successfully delivering projects and initiatives in the energy sector.

Provide leadership and direction to assigned project teams in the delivery of fasttrack generation projects.

• Development of the business case and together with others secure approval of various internal and external stakeholders.
• Contribute to the establishment appropriate commercial arrangements including Procurement as appropriate
• Champion safety across the project by updating and implementing the safety management strategy and managing implementation of this strategy.
• Promote and foster a strong team culture and open and transparent communication within the project team and with key partners withing internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure effective delivery of project in line with ESB’s internal rigorous project management methodologies, achieving a consistent high standard of output from the project team which meets all technical, commercial, legal procurement and programme requirements.
• Ensure that all project risks are continually assessed, reported, and managed in line with ESB’s governance systems.
• Report to the Manager of the Dispatchable Generaton & Storage Team – also working closely with the Manager, Asset Management in GT.
