Description:
A Project Resident Engineer (Temporary) – Active Travel Programme Office is required to manage the major construction walking, cycling and bus priority project, largely being funded through by the National Transport Authority (NTA) through allocations from the Sustainable Measures Grant Programme. Some of the major Dublin City Council projects are the Clontarf to City Centre Project, the Dodder Greenway, the South Grand Canal Improvement Scheme and the Royal Canal Greenway.
In general, these Projects include the reallocation of overall road space to include, segregated cycling lanes,
upgraded junctions, improved pedestrian facilities and upgrading the public domain so that they are
accessible, age-friendly and maximise comfort and safety to people of all ages and abilities. Encouraging a
modal shift from our reliance on the private car, to more sustainable modes of travel, such as walking,
cycling and the use of the public transport, consistent with national policy.
