Quality Assurance Manager

 

Description:

We are now seeking applications for the position of Quality Assurance Manager based in the Killeshandra, site.

 

Reporting to the Technical Manager, Killeshandra, the person appointed will manage all aspects of Production Site Quality. Lead direct reports and the wider Quality and Laboratory teams on the site to ensure the compliance to all relevant hygiene, quality standards and ensuring best practices in quality control systems for the analytical needs specific to production in order to meet regulatory, third party and customer standards. Facilitate the implementation of new standards as required and manage a culture of continuous quality and hygiene improvement.

 

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead the sites Quality and Laboratory team in the management of the plant’s food safety, quality control, quality assurance, hygiene, and product release processes.
  • Lead, manage, motivate, and develop the Quality team and Laboratory team, coaching encouraging people to achieve results which meet individual, departmental and business targets, and objectives, and support the company values.
  • Provide leadership, support, and ensure compliance in all regulatory, third party and customer standards.
  • Continually review and update quality assurance and control systems in line with legislative, third party and customer requirements.
  • Ensure site compliance with existing legislation and keep abreast of new legislative requirements.
  • Maintain the site in a state of audit readiness, prepare and successfully host customer, regulatory, certification and customer audits. Run scheduled and unannounced audits. Track and report compliance to the output of those audits.
  • Advocate, lead and promote a strong food safety culture for the site.
  • Technical Compliance: Specially review and action variances to all microbiological, analytical, and quality assessment and customer complaint KPI’s.
  • Lead the team of quality control and laboratory operations to ensure timely testing of raw materials, in process and finished products V’s target.
  • Ensure effective management and control of product/process deviations for all released product and for the implementation of effective corrective action when non-conformances arise.
  • Liaise cross functionally with staff in other production functions to achieve a coordinated approach in reaching the highest standards to ensure all products, processes
  • and plant are effectively monitored and controlled. Work to resolve operational quality problems and drive improvements in factory standards.
  • Drives quality improvement activities to include initiatives to increase product quality and CAPA resolution, reduce cost, decrease in-efficiencies and improve risk management
