Description:
We are looking for a new Quality Engineer employee to be based in Cork.
General Purpose:
The Quality Engineer is responsible for setting up new manufacturing processes, supporting new product introduction, resolving product and process issues. This includes driving continuous manufacturing improvement to meet customer requirements. They are also responsible for continuous system and process improvement in the inspection methodology, quality control practices.
Principle Accountabilities:
- Develops and implements methods and procedures for disposition of discrepant material and devises methods to assess cost and responsibility
- Responsible for developing, applying, revising, and maintaining quality standards for processing materials into partially finished or finished products.
- Working from engineering drawings, specifications, schematics, diagrams, written descriptions, layouts, or defined plans to perform complex engineering testing, checkout, First Article Inspection, root cause analysis, internal corrective actions, and supplier correction actions
- Assists with development and implementation of quality audits.
- Responsible for developing, applying, revising, and maintaining quality standards for processing materials into partially finished or finished products.
- Designs and implements methods and procedures for inspecting and evaluating the accuracy of products.
- Supports Product Engineers and Program Manager with customer and or supplier interfaces.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Highly organized, driven by achieving results both on a personal and team basis.
- They will be a clear thinker, perceptive, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Office Skills: Phones, word, Excel, Power point etc. data entry, ERP software, and database systems
- Successful candidates will have sound knowledge of quality and process engineering methods.
- Diploma / Technical degree or equivalent experience in Quality/Electronics/Engineering.
- Experience in electronic manufacturing & Lean-Six Sigma methods would be advantageous.
- Eligible to work in Ireland (EU).
