Quality Inspector

 

Description:

The ideal person will hold a quality qualification or equivalent technical or engineering qualification and will have spent some time working as an inspector in the recent past. A working knowledge of machine component drawings and an appreciation of quality standards, inspection methods, and equipment is essential. A background in machining, and associated processes would be a distinct advantage.

 

The successful person will work alongside the production and supply team to inspect and release products from both incoming suppliers, and the manufacturing processes, identify issues and help to identify and implement corrective actions. The role will be responsible for working with suppliers and the internal production team to resolve identified issues to ensure a reliable supply to production and customers.

 

The role also presents an opportunity to experience and contribute to a growing business while expanding their own experience and knowledge around all aspects of manufacturing, quality management and supply chain management, while servicing multinational, blue chip customers to a very high level of service.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read blueprints and instructions to comprehend the quality expectations of each product.
  • Approve or reject products and materials with respect to quality standards and record quality performance on the QMS system.
  • Carry out critical measurements Use measuring tools such as calipers and various gauges.
  • Inspect production documentation.
  • Comply and champion our ISO systems and contribute to regular internal and external compliance audit requirements.
  • Maintain records of testing, information, and various metrics such as defect numbers, calibration, non-conformances, and closure details.
  • Monitor the use of equipment to ensure it is safe and well-maintained and discard any that doesn't meet requirements.
  • Pre-plan and prepare First-Article and in-process inspection reports.
  • Perform Incoming Inspection duties.
  • Perform First Article inspections.
  • Review manufacturing records and verify data.
  • Perform final product inspection and final release activity.
  • Assist and perform quality investigations.
  • Assist with CAPAs and NCRs.
  • Responsible for calibration and upkeep of measuring & testing equipment.
  • Support the Internal Audit Program as required.
  • Support external regulatory audits.
  • Assist with the weekly metric review process.
  • Support and assist in maintaining the Quality Management System throughout the organisation.
  • Identify possible areas for improvement in quality control processes.
