CareerWise Recruitment are recruiting for a Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety (QEHS) Technician for our food manufacturing client in East Cork.
The QEHS Technician will support the companies Quality and Environmental, Health and Safety Program
THE ROLE
- Work with the overall quality team to ensure Quality assurance, Environmental compliance and the Health and Safety of employees.
- Strong presence in the manufacturing area ensuring all processes are compliant with good manufacturing practice.
- Carry out daily QEHS walks ensuring all policies and procedures are being adhered to.
- Communicate QEHS updates at Operator and Management morning meetings
- Monitor and follow through on SSOW.
- Manage permits ensuring control measures are in place; collecting, filing and reviewing
- Responsible for QEHS culture improvement.
- Carry out risk assessments as required.
- Support with laboratory testing/retesting when required.
- Manage the CAPA system; inputting the CAPA, logging and tracking actions, closing actions and trending monthly
- Support adhoc environmental tasks when required.
- Responsible for carrying out Internal/hygiene Audits as per schedule for QEHS system.
- Performing quality checks on products during production ensuring product is always produced to customer specification.
- Preparing for and assisting with customer audits, customer visits, and visits from regulatory bodies ensuring timely responses to any Non-conformances and corrective actions are implemented.
- Participate in QEHS scheduled events ensuring standards are implemented in accordance with individual customer requirements and all legal and regulatory requirements.
- Management of the approved supplier list, ensuring that all certifications, specifications are maintained up to date.
- Document control and updating procedures, records, and manuals, reviewing and filing paperwork from the production floor ensuring correct completion of all process control paperwork.
- Comply with relevant laws and protect your own safety and health, as well as the safety and health of anyone who may be affected by your acts or omissions at work.
- Cooperate with the company regarding safety, health and welfare at work.
- Participate in safety and health training offered by the company
- Make proper use of all machinery, tools, etc. and of all Personal Protective Equipment provided for use at work.
- Report any defects in the place of work, equipment, etc. which might endanger safety and health GMP:
- Full cooperation with and commitment to company GMP policies, procedures & standards

REQUIREMENTS
- An honours degree in a related discipline is an advantage
- Involvement in BRC, or customer focused quality audits desirable
- Previous experience in a food manufacturing / Laboratory environment desirable
- Accredited food safety and HACCP training desirable
