Description:

The vacancy is to be filled on a temporary specific purpose contract basis, for a period of five years. The post will be based in Tramore. Contract of Employment may be with Kilkenny, Tipperary, Wexford or Waterford City & County Council.

Reporting to the NRO Senior Engineer and liaising closely with TII including the TII Regional Manager(s) and Inspectorate, the Senior Executive Engineer (NRO) is charged with the efficient management, direction and development of their project team(s).

This senior management role involves managing the team, overseeing team resources, and advising on training needs. The Senior Executive Engineer shall ensure the team operates in an efficient and effective manner to deliver an annual programme of works as determined by the Management Advisory Committee of Tramore House and delegated by the NRO Senior Engineer. The role will involve assisting with the development and delivery of proposals that connect towns, villages and communities across the south east region.
 

• Supervising, controlling and carrying out engineering services to include the preparation and management of work plans and programmes as agreed by the Management Advisor Committee
• Establishing and maintaining working relationships with colleagues and key stakeholders
• Identifying infrastructural needs and overseeing the design and delivery of infrastructural solutions including the procurement and management of contractors using current best practice project management, contract management and financial management procedures;
• Managing programme deliverables of the team including staff performance and development;
• Capable of managing budget effectively and efficiently,
• Adhering with Health & Safety legislation and regulations and the Council’s Corporate Health and Safety systems;
• Report preparation and presentation of reports for meetings, as required
• Liaising with other local authorities, government departments and statutory agencies;
• Carrying out such other duties as may be required from time to time.
