The Engineering and Asset Management (EAM) Team now have an exciting opportunity for a customer focused, technical and resilient individual to lead and manage a team of client engineers in the delivery of onshore transmission infrastructure. They will also look to you to influence third parties in relation to technical matters relating to connections to the Transmission network and be able to resolve conflict or differences between connecting parties and the Distribution System Operator (DSO) in their role as the Transmission Asset Owner onshore.

Onshore Client Engineer Team Lead is responsible for ensuring that the client engineering undertaking project design reviews/site inspections on both contestable and non-contestable transmission projects and developed in accordance with functional specification standards for onshore transmission assets.

The successful candidate will have:

A relevant Engineering degree with typically, 10 + years relevant post-qualification experience.

Excellent technical knowledge in high voltage transmission design with strong knowledge of transmission technology (HV cables, substations, and OHL) including new and emerging technologies.

Excellent communication skills with an emphasis on high quality report writing and ability to communicate technical issues clearly and effectively.

Ability to lead and influence others to move towards a common vision or goal and to work collaboratively with and through others.

Demonstrable experience leading high performing teams, with an ability to persuade and motivate others in achieving business objectives.

Strong understanding of the requirements of stakeholders and industry for the transmission system and associated developments.

Ability to coach and mentor staff to provide high quality client engineering service.
