Description:
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and dedicated Retail Assistant to join our Gallery team. The Retail Assistant is responsible for providing excellent customer service, generating sales, and maintaining the store's appearance. The ideal candidate MUST have an experience in interior design and furniture retail, a strong sales background, a can do attitude, great people and excellent communication skills. This is a pure retail role and NOT interior design.
Responsibilities:
- Working in our retail gallery ensuring each client/customer is provided with the highest levels of customer service and attention
- Assist customers in selecting products that meet their needs and preferences
- Become familiar with all brands and products (training will be provided)
- Provide expert advice on interior and product selection
- Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently
- Handle daily deliveries and ensure storage areas are organised and clean
- Ensure stock levels are maintained and correctly priced
- Work according to company procedures and formats
- Maintain a clean and organised store, ensuring all display areas are styled and tidy at all times
- Assist with web orders, pack and dispatch
- Keep up-to-date on the latest interior design trends and products
- Build and maintain positive relationships with customers and colleagues
- Work as part of a team to achieve gallery sales goals
- Assist with in-store events and other jobs as required
- Minimum 2 Saturdays per month
Qualifications:
- English fluently spoken and written
- Minimum 3 years of retail sales experience in the home décor or interior design industry
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Passionate about interiors and customer service
- Strong knowledge of Scandinavian interior design principles and trends
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
- Be service minded and focused on over-delivering on customer expectations
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in Google Workspace
