Bradford Jacobs is currently supporting a tech company who serve some of the most competent and creative people in the iGaming industry. We are helping them find a Senior Scala Developer to join their remote team in Europe.
Founded in 2015, their first product was launched 6 years ago, a casino determined to deliver a better user and gaming experience than what is currently available.
This role will see you join like minded Scala Developers to design, develop and maintain premium web experiences for their consumers. Someone who enjoys taking initiative and diving deep into emerging technologies.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop maintainable and reusable software.
- Implement automated testing and unit tests.
- Collaborate closely with back-end and front-end engineers to develop new and maintain existing systems.
- Work autonomously with little or no supervision.
- Creating database schemas to support business requirements.
- Integrate user-facing elements developed by front-end developers with server-side logic.
- Optimise applications to obtain maximum throughput and scalability.
- Participate in code and design reviews to maintain our high development standards.
- Managing hosting environments, including basic database administration and scaling of application to support load changes.
Requirements:
- Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of basic algorithms and data structures.
- Strong problem solving skills and ability to troubleshoot operational issues.
- Ability to write and optimize SQL and display an understanding of relational databases.
- Proficient knowledge of a back-end programming languages such as Java and Scala is essential.
- Demonstrable experience in functional programming, for instance using Cats or ZIO on a daily basis is essential.
- Experience with medium/high traffic platforms is considered an asset.
