My client, based in Dublin 12, is a long-established distributor of commercial vehicles, spare parts, and aftersales services within Ireland and the UK.

They distribute globally recognised vehicle brands and are a leader in the growing and ever-evolving EV space including Light Commercial Vehicles, buses, and coaches.

They have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior Accounts Receivable person to join their team.

The Senior Accounts Receivable role is to lead and manage the accounts receivable function within the organization, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of financial transactions related to the automotive industry.

 

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

 

  • Assess the creditworthiness of new and existing clients. Establish and monitor credit limits, taking proactive steps to mitigate credit risk.
  • Collaborate with the sales and finance teams to review credit terms and conditions.
  • Implement and execute effective collection strategies to minimize overdue accounts.
  • Communicate with clients to resolve payment issues and negotiate payment plans when necessary.
  • Monitor and analyze accounts receivable aging reports, taking appropriate action on delinquent accounts.
  • Manage the accurate and timely application of cash receipts.
  • Reconcile customer accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Ensure proper recording and allocation of payments.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on accounts receivable performance to management.
  • Analyze data trends to identify areas for process improvement and optimization.
  • Provide insights into cash flow projections and potential risks.
  • Foster positive relationships with clients, addressing queries and concerns promptly.
  • Collaborate with the sales and customer service teams to enhance the overall customer experience. Conduct regular client reviews to assess credit terms and resolve issues.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency of the accounts receivable function.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and reduce receivable cycle times.

 

 

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience

 

  • 3+ years’ experience in a Senior Accounts Receivable or Credit Control position.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Previous experience in the motor industry is desired.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office, good Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving and a high level of attention to detail.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Skilled with people management with the ability to work effectively cross-functionally with various departments throughout the organization.
