Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Business Analyst to join our Group IT Department, supporting our Life & Health reinsurance solutions. Reporting to the Head of Life & Health Finance & Actuarial IT you will be responsible for working with internal customers to understand business needs, to design and specify appropriate solutions and to support or lead all activities necessary to deliver the final product.
Business Process Analysis & Design
- Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts to identify and understand their needs.
- Study system flows, data usage and work processes
- Investigating problem areas
- Producing or supporting the creation of requirement artefacts (User stories, screen design, business rules, data models etc.)
- IT system design and specification
Planning and Co-ordination
- Develop plans in close cooperation with the Subject Matter Experts
- Oversee and assist with backlog prioritization.
- Monitor and track project progress.
- Utilize agile methodologies, such as Scrum, to manage and deliver projects effectively.
- Conduct software quality assurance before business testing.
- Plan, coordinate, and provide support for test activities, including user support during acceptance tests.
Qualifications
About you:
To be an ideal candidate you will have the following background, skills, and mindset:
- 5+ years of professional experience as a Business Analyst in Financial Services
- Bachelor’s Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, detail oriented and inquisitive
- Experience in project management (PMI/Prince2 qualification an advantage)
- Experience in agile software methodologies (Scrum Master or Product Owner)
- Knowledge in agile software development methodology is a plus
- Willingness to learn and apply new systems and tools in a hands-on manner.
- Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, AXIS and SQL experience strongly preferred.
- Familiar with reporting solutions (Business Objects and Power BI)
- Excellent communication and language skills in English (proficient verbal and in writing), as you will interact with the IT and the Business community daily.
- Ability to work effectively both within a team and independently.
- Driven towards finding solutions and being responsive.
- Experience in the (re)insurance industry is preferred but not a must.
