We are currently seeking to hire a Senior Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor for a permanent opportunity, based in Ireland and/or the Nordics.
- Post graduate BSc or MSc in Construction Economics or equivalent with min 5 -7 yrs experience
- Lead a team of Cost Managers to deliver a first class client service from project inception to completion
- Membership of SCSI or RICS or about to complete APC
- Experience in a broad range of project types from High Rise Residential, Greenfield and Brownfield Commercial Development, Public Domain and Infrastructure, Healthcare and Hospitality
- Engage with project process from appointment stage
- Participate in preparation of resource schedule and forecast
- Prepare early stage Capital Expenditure Estimate
- Engage with Designers to ensure design remains within established cost parameters
- Produce a selection of cost estimates for options during design feasibility and development stages
- Prepare cost plans and offer value engineering options to maintain project budget
- Provide early advice on procurement strategy, pre-order long lead items
- Offer full life cycle cost advice
- Prepare ongoing costs checks during design development
- Prepare tender documents including full BoQ including 'gap analysis'
- Evaluate tender returns
- Assist with Main + Sub Contractor appointments including drafting standard building contracts
- Oversee a rigid form of change management procedures and provide early advice to client and designers regarding scope change or redsign
- Prepare monthly payment recommendations and cost reports
- Appraise any contractual claims submitted and guide settlement of same
- Attend all relevant design team and client meetings ensuring that your message is clear and understood
- Prepare a draft final account for review with all contract parties
