Reporting to the Head of IT and Project Management, the Senior Data Analyst will support the organisational leadership team by defining the technical deliveries required to support the organisational data strategy and deliver analytical and reporting needs.
Your focus will be to deliver a portfolio of strategic, compliance and operational analytics. You will help solve business problems using analytical models delivered to key stakeholders. You will deliver initiatives which build new analytical structures and frameworks.
The role will also be responsible for providing advice on and implementing day-to-day tactical and strategic analysis designed to enable effective delivery of data and reporting objectives.
The role will involve the day-to-day analysis and production of a wide range of insightful management information reporting from multiple data sources.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as data quality champion by ensuring data quality KPIs are available and monitored. Advise on strategies for eliminating poor data quality root cause and remediation strategies.
- Ensure the data governance strategy is implemented in collaboration with senior business stakeholders.
- Design and advise on an effective strategy for data handling, transformation and reporting.
- Review and evaluate the purpose and content of current business reports to develop new/enhanced insights, improve presentation, format, processes, use and control.
- Advise and recommend strategies for source system ETL for multi-domain and multi-dimensional reporting and data consumption.
- Work closely with the Data Engineering and BI Developers to evaluate the technical feasibility of solution options.
- Collaborate with the Salesforce Product team to ensure data strategy and tooling is aligned with global Salesforce strategy and data can be delivered into Salesforce application smoothly.
- Analyse project and change delivery requirements in collaboration with business analysts and project managers with respect to their effect on data management activities and reporting. Make recommendations for best practice and alignment to overall data strategy.
- Provide data quality training and support the overall awareness of the strategic importance of data quality across the application portfolio
- Extract data to manipulate/calculate/format into presentable reports and insightful analysis with charts and graphs and supporting observations
- Coordination on the resolution of Problem tickets with application management support partners
Key Role Requirements:
- Educated to degree level in Computer Science or similar area of expertise. Post graduate qualification in data science discipline is highly desirable
- 3+ years data analytics expertise in a financial services environment
- Experience developing data quality rule sets across a multi-application and data warehouse landscape using tools such as Informatica IDQ and Developer
- Experience in developing data management strategies and/or governance frameworks.
- Advanced knowledge of data wharehousing concepts and design
- Advanced knowledge of programming using PL SQL
- Experience with ETL tools with SAP Data Services or Informatica Powercenter a distinct advantage
- Expert in SAP Business Objects, including: Webi and Universe Design
- Experience with Salesforce data modelling and ETL would be an advantage
- Database infrastructure knowledge; capable of integrating multiple data sources
- Experience in consulting and developing recommendations from complex analysis
